Massage therapy is the holistic application of physical touch to affect the systems of the body, ie. Muscular, skeletal, digestive, elimination, respiratory, circulatory, lymphatic, endocrine, and nervous systems. It is the manipulation of the soft tissues of the body with the hands for therapeutic healing, restoration and relaxation.
Therapeutic massage benefits the ill, the injured, and the stressed (mental/physical), in addition to preventing illness and conditions before they develop. Massage is beneficial for all ages. Most of today’s health problems arise from our lives being out of balance, stress and the constant demands on our minds/bodies. When a person is overly stressed, this creates disharmony or a ‘disconnect’ from our mind, body & soul.

Because stress upsets the delicate balance of all your body’s functions, regaining this balance is often requires a holistic (whole body) approach.

Massage therapists use a variety of techniques that along with prescribed client self-care, help to facilitate improved quality of health, life and overall wellbeing. Massage is suitable for all ages and can benefit conditions ranging from acute to chronic.
