Derived from an ancient 5,000 year old Indian tradition, these treatments are designed to loosen toxins in the body and release excesses. Deeply cleansing and purifying of mind & body, the focus is to restoring, reconnecting & re-balancing your inner environment of mind, body and spirit to calm & harmony.

In Ayurveda, everything in the universe – dead or alive – is connected. If your mind, body, and spirit are in harmony with the universe, you have good health. When something disrupts this balance, you get sick. Among the things that can upset this balance are genetic or birth defects, injuries, climate and seasonal change, age, and your emotions.

These combine in the human body to form three life forces or energies, called Doshas. They control how your body works. They are Vata Dosha – Air & Ether; Pitta Dosha – Fire & Water; and Kapha Dosha Earth & Water.

In the practice of Ayurveda, every person is made of five basic elements found in the Universe: Space, Air, Fire, Water, and Earth.

Everyone inherits a unique mix of the three Doshas. But one is usually stronger than the others. Each one controls a different body function. It’s believed that  the health issues you develop are linked to the balance of your Doshas.

Indian Head Massage, has been practiced in India for over 1,000 years.  This Sanskrit word can be translated as the “science of life” or “knowledge of life”.  The art of Indian Head Massage originated from Ayurveda, the ancient Indian system of medicine.   In the West the scalp is commonly viewed as independent part of the body. In India, however, the scalp is regarded as an extension of the body’s skin and lavished with attention and care.  This form of massage is very relaxing and focuses on the face, neck, head, shoulders and upper arms where tension, headaches and stiffness tend to accumulate. It also has a balancing effect on the recipient as it helps them to release stress and tension creating a sense of peace and well-being.  This form of massage is done over the clothing lying on a massage table or in a seated position.  Oils such as sesame, almond and coconut, mixed with doTERRA Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade essential oils are massaged into the scalp and hair at the end phase of the treatment.

This beautiful, deeply relaxing treatment involves pouring a stream of warm oil over the forehead. Shirodhara is a powerful treatment for relieving mental stress and nervous tension. Shirodhara works primarily on the mental sheath or “manomaya kosha” as it is referred to in Ayurveda. It is here that the mind holds on to past impressions that create imbalanced desires and habitual patterns of behavior. These impressions are held captive in the limbic system of the emotional cortex of the brain.

Marma therapy is an important part of Ayurveda that helps to maintain health by cleansing blocked energy.

The word Marma is of Sanskrit origin ‘Mrin Maranae’. The Sanskrit phrase, “mriyatae asmin iti marma” means ‘there is likelihood of death or serious damage to health when these points are inflicted. Hence, these areas are called marma. Marma in Sanskrit also means hidden or secret. By definition, a Marma point is a juncture on the body where two or more types of tissue meet, such as muscles, veins, ligaments, bones or joints.
